by Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid have reportedly split up again post allegations and harassment charges made by the model’s mother Yolanda Hadid against the singer-husband. The couple, who have a one year old daughter together, Khai, have had an on and off relationship since November 2015. According to US Weekly, they finally patched up around January 2020 and three months later Gigi was pregnant with Khai. Their relationship then went “swimmingly” with both the singer and the model embracing the daily intricacies of newfound parenthood with charm and tenderness. “Gigi and Zayn are loving parenthood and can’t get enough of their little girl, they are appreciating every moment” the source added.
Now cases and lawsuits have been filed against Malik, by Yolanda following an altercation between the two where he has allegedly “struck” her. The incident reportedly took place at the couple’s Pennsylvania house when Gigi was away for work. As per sources, Zayn “shoved Yolanda into a dresser causing mental anguish and physical pain” and even cursed her. He is currently booked under four harassment charges, all in the Pennsylvania district court for using “lewd, lascivious, threatening or obscene words” to Yolanda Hadid and Gigi Hadid. According to court documents, Malik threatened Yolanda to stay away from their daughter and even tried to fight a man, who a TMZ reporter later identified as the security guard.
For each of the four charges, the court sentenced him to 90 days of probation or almost a year along with anger management sessions and for a screening of a “domestic violence” case. He would be further restrained from getting into touch or contact with Yolanda for the time being although the conditions might be relaxed after six months if Malik satisfies the same. Zayn Malik on the other hand has “adamantly” negated all the harassment charges levelled against him but said he’d comply with all the court recommended procedures to ensure Khai and Gigi’s safety and welfare.
Malik wrote on twitter that he “agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner’s who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago.” In his latest Instagram post, he referred to himself as a private person and requested the fans and paparazzi to respect his family’s internal matters under such trying times. Both Gigi and Zayn have reportedly unfollowed each other on social media platforms yet according to sources, they wish to “protect Khai” and share parental rights and custody of the one year old.
This is yet another instance of how short-lived and turbulent the family lives of such glittering personalities are once they are removed from underneath the Hollywood spotlight. Yolanda, Khai and Zayn had previously engaged in a lot of affectionate posts on social media. This altercation followed by a bitter breakup of two of the most followed celebrities comes as a huge shock to all their fans.
Gigi Hadid on the other hand has not released any public statement on this front but asked reporters to give the family some “private time and space” to sort things out among themselves.
