US Judge Rules Out Jaime Spears From Britney’s Conservatorship

Judge Brenda Penny, said Jamie Spears, remaining in control of his 39-year-old daughter Britney Spears’ inheritance was “untenable” at a hearing on Wednesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. Hence ordered Jamie to be removed from her conservatorship.

Reportedly, Jamie’s legal team had argued that rather than suspending him, a termination of the agreement was the best course of action. Jamie’s lawyer wrote, “There are, in fact, no actual grounds for suspending or removing Mr. Spears as the Conservator of the Estate and it is highly debatable whether a change in conservator at this time would be in Ms. Spears’ best interests.” He further added, “Nevertheless, even as Mr. Spears is the unremitting target of unjustified attacks, he does not believe that a public battle with his daughter over his continuing service as her conservator would be in her best interests. So, even though he must contest this unjustified Petition for his removal, Mr. Spears intends to work with the Court and his daughter’s new attorney to prepare for an orderly transition to a new conservator.”

Britney claimed her conservatorship to be abusive and has compared it to being sex-trafficked. She said, “The only similar thing to this is called sex trafficking. The people who did this to me should not be able to walk away so easily. I’m not here to be anyone’s slave,”. She added “I feel left out and alone. And I’m tired of feeling alone. This conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good. I deserve to have a life, I’ve worked my whole life. I deserve to have a two to three-year break”.

As per reports, Jaime was ordered to hand over the essential documents to John Zabel, a certified public accountant who has been designated as the singer’s temporary conservator of $60 million fortune.

The move is a big step forward in the superstar’s quest to get free of the legal agreement she has been under since 2008. The #FreeBritney movement from a large group of supporters from all over the world called for the conservatorship to be lifted and made a huge impact. Following the announcement, Britney’s boyfriend and actor-model, Sam Asghari, resorted to Instagram Stories to express his anger, writing: “FREE BRITNEY! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!”

The judge has set a date of November 12 to decide whether the conservatorship will be dissolved, following months of fast-paced events in what was initially a very slow-moving case.
