The 20 something comedian was spotted on two separate occasions with beauty mogul and Hollywood socialite cum model, Kim Kardashian in New York, one time during Halloween and the other time on a private dinner on Staten Island. According to US Weekly, Kardashian, 40; and Davidson, 27 were spotted having dinner together at Campania’s, arriving through a back door and opting for a private dining room, away from the prying eyes of other diners and possibly the paparazzi. The two were reportedly sharing a couple of pizzas and having a laidback evening, enjoying each other’s company and soaking in the thrill and ambiance of the diner at night. They were allowed their own private space to ensure minimum disturbance from others.
This was not the first time the two have been spotted together beyond any reality show set or TV program. On October 29, they were spotted holding hands on a roller coaster ride at Knott’s Family Farm and later on Halloween, joined by Kim’s sister Kourtney and her husband Travis Barker to celebrate the evening. Other celebrities were also invited to this festival. Talks have been making round about Kim’s dalliances with the comedian, who’s half her age, and speculations about her moving on too fast after her separation from singer and rapper, Kanye West, earlier this year. According to sources, their relationship has been “mostly platonic, but it could turn into something romantic” if given significant time. No one really knows their current equation but a second source did add that the KKW founder was “surprised” by her chemistry with the Saturday Night Live cast member.
Kim met Davidson originally during her time on the NBC sketch show as the host. They took part in several skits and seemed to be getting along quite fine and friendly. One of their skits was also on Kim’s sister Kourtney and the Poosh co-founder, Barker. Things must have gone well since in one of the later sketches they did a spoof off Aladin where the model and the stand-up locked lips imitating the princess Jasmine and the pauper-turned-prince, Aladin from the fairytale. Following this October 9 episode, there were talks about Kim’s estranged husband, Kanye to join the sets. Kanye and Kim started dating in 2011 and had their daughter, North West in June 2013 but tied the knot only in May 2014. The pair quickly became one of the most talked and celebrated couples of Tinseltown; they welcomed four more children after getting married. However, they encountered a tumultuous stage during which Kim got robbed at gunpoint and Kanye was hospitalized due to exhaustion. Then with the musician campaigning for running for US presidential elections and Kim trying to focus on her bar exams to become a lawyer, the two encountered deep problems. Kim “just had enough of it” and she finally filed for divorce in 2018. Ever since then, however, the two estranged spouses have maintained friendly contact and joint custody for their kids. So much so that, on her episode with Davidson on SNL, Kim took suggestions from West regarding the skit lines, and even her wardrobe.
The relationship between Davidson and West however hasn’t been exactly amicable with the stand-up calling out Kanye for his pro-Trump rant backstage at SNL in September 2018.
You know how wrong about politics you have to be for me to notice?” he said. “Being mentally ill is not an excuse to act like a jackass. I’m quoting my therapist, my mom, and my mailman”, and even put on a “Make Kanye 2006 Again” hat to bring home his point.
The two along with Timothee Chalamet however hung out around 2019 while the couple was out celebrating Kid Cudi’s birthday.
The several sightings of Kim and Davidson were also received with both surprise and disbelief by other members of Hollywood. Chrissy Teigen, the wife of musician John Legend, commented “Funny guys do a lot,” and “Who wouldn’t want to be in love with a funny guy?” whereas The Today co-hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager opinionated “Something is going on!” given their fingers were interlaced and Kim flew to New York to have dinner with him for two nights in a row, leaving behind her children in LA.
Could this spell another edition of Hot Couples in Hollywood to watch out for? Only time will tell.
