Mindy Kaling took to Instagram to post the first photo of her one-year-old son Spencer, prompting a slew of celebrities to wish him a happy birthday. As she celebrates her son’s first birthday, Mindy Kaling has shared the first photo of him. The US Office actor has kept the youngster, who was born on September 3, 2020, out of the spotlight, but shared a cute photo on Instagram on Monday. The 42-year-old actress and producer shared a photo of her son Spencer sitting in front of a swarm of balloons, including a giant Mickey Mouse head. She also used the article to discuss the baby boy’s relationship with his older sister, Katherine, who is three years old.
Kit, my daughter, is wary of new acquaintances. If you happen to establish eye contact with Spencer, he lights up and makes a beeline for you like you’re old combat friends.”
During the lockdown, the actress, who also starred in The Mindy Project, went on to talk about how things were going for the newest member of the family.
She said, “Spencer was my companion during Covid, and it was a strangely lonely period, but the moment I met him, I knew he’d make things better. And he succeeded!”
Mindy wrapped up her post by revealing her baby’s nickname and giving fans a glimpse into her personal life. She exclaimed, “Wishing you a happy birthday, Spike!”
The star’s famous acquaintances raced to the post to send their own good wishes. Tan France, the host of Queer Eye, wrote: “OMG, your baby is already a year old? Jessica Mulroney, a stylist, said: “My favourite family’s birthday is today. You’re a fantastic mommy.”
“Spencer, have a fantastic birthday!” wrote Maunika Gowardhan, a cook. I hope your birthday was full with cake, presents, and lots of hugs.”
The photo didn’t show the child’s face, but it’s a step closer to the public than Mindy has been in the past. She kept her pregnancy a secret for the duration of her pregnancy, and Spencer’s birth was only published a month after she gave birth.
She has also avoided posting photos of her three-year-old daughter, explaining why in a 2019 interview with Glamour. “I’m on social media and like expressing what my interests are and how my day is going and all of that,” she added at the time, “but I do feel entitled to privacy concerning my daughter and my relationships.” It’s critical to my life that there be something that only a few others are aware of. That is a limit, but it is a very minor limit. I have no qualms with revealing everything else.”
