Apparently the singers who called it quits two months back have gotten back together and in the most unplanned and unexpected yet adorable way possible. The exes reunited in a park while walking their dog. Mendes, 23, and Cabello, 24 shared a dog together, Tarzan and although the dog parents split up, by the looks of it they still seem to be bonding over their mutual love for their child. And for each other.
Mendes and Cabello have been friends a long time before they went onto become something more than friends. The two started dating sometime around 2019 and seemed to be obsessed with each other from posting pictures together, to collaborating on music videos to helping each other write songs and with the music, it seemed they couldn’t get enough of each other. However like all relationships, theirs also ran out of spark after two years and so much so that, even if they shared a bond and affection for each other it simply was not enough to make the relationship work. The two eventually decided to call it off around November last year. They even took down each other’s pictures off their profiles on Instagram and put up the same story about how they have mutually decided to take a break and focus on themselves individually. As per sources the two had still maintained a close touch with each other and not cut off all ties completely.
“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” they revealed in their Instagram story. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn.”
According to sources, their breakup was not a sudden decision fuelled by anger and misunderstanding. It was especially a carefully thought out and well considered one, given they were getting excessive media attention and were constantly under the public scrutiny. The glare became too much to handle at a time with questions surfacing about how the two might tie the knot or is there any news of an engagement in the cards, possibly. All these irked Shawn especially and the two even attended a couple of therapy sessions together to talk about their problems. It did help in strengthening their bond but wasn’t enough to keep them together.
However as the TMZ video clip emerged of Camilla and Shawn engaged in a light hearted moment with each other while walking their dog Tarzan in Central park of New York City, fans have started speculating there’s indeed some hope for the two of them getting back together in the near future.
