The 2021 bingo card does not include a real-life Rachel and Ross romance. Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer revealed in May that they had a crush on one other when they weren’t in character as Rachel Green and Ross Geller on HBO Max’s “Friends: The Reunion.” Aniston piqued Schwimmer’s interest early in the series, he said.
He says, “In the first season, I had a big crush on Jen,” which Aniston acknowledged was reciprocated. “However, it was like two ships passing,” he explained, “since one of us was constantly in a relationship and we never passed that boundary.”
The rumor mill jumped on the dialogue and concocted a story that the two stars were dating, but “Friends” fans will be disappointed to learn that they are not. The claims, according to Aniston’s representative Stephen Huvane, are incorrect.
Throughout the 10 seasons of the NBC sitcom, Ross and Rachel’s hot-and-cold affair was a prominent narrative line. Their love begins with simple beginnings: exploding living room fights, soiled wedding vows, and a Las Vegas wedding (and divorce) before finally resolving to remain together at the end of the show “Friends”.
Regrettably, that affection isn’t spilling over onto the set. Both Schwimmer and Aniston have a history of previous relationships, as Schwimmer noted at the reunion program. Aniston and Brad Pitt had a notable pairing in 2000 before splitting up five years later.
In 2010, Schwimmer married photographer Zoe Buckman, but the couple divorced in 2017. They both appear to be single at the moment, so “Friends” fans can continue to fantasize.
