Vera Beths is a dutch violinist associated with Smithsonian Chamber Players. She has worked with Reinbert de Leeuw. She also had the opportunity to play with de Leeuw, the first two Geroge Antheil violin sonatas in the company of Olga Rudge, who is 93 years old violinist.
Vera was born on 1 June 1946 in Haarlem, Netherlands. She received her first violin lesson from her father. She won first prize at the Oskar Back National Violin Competition. Beths also took part in the Rudolf Serkins Marlboro Festival in Vermont. She later took violin lessons in New York with Ivan Galamian. Chamber music is Beth’s favorite. Beths teaches violin in the Conservatory of Amsterdam and Royal Conservatory in Hague.
