Kristin Nelson

Quick Facts about Kristin NelsonĀ

Sharon Kristin Nelson was an American primitive painter, novelist, and actress known for her marriages to prominent American actor, musician, and singer-songwriter Ricky Nelson and American television producer and director Mark Tinker. She was also the daughter of American football star Tom Harmon. Her vividly coloured paintings, which were imagined without perspective and comprised multiple figures, helped her carve out a space for herself. Many celebrities, like Jacqueline Kennedy and Mia Farrow, admired her work. The Day He Died and When the Kennedys Were in the White House are two of her well-known works. Kennedy was the one who bought the latter. Out of My Mind, Kristin’s coffee-table-sized autobiography, features her paintings, which are combined with diary entries and poems that describe her life experience.

Her acting credits include playing alongside her first husband, Ricky, in the television sitcom The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet and the comedy film Love and Kisses, as well as roles in the series Adam-12 and the films The Resurrection of Broncho Billy and Liar’s Moon.

Karen Vick, the hard-hitting interim-turned-permanent chief who first engaged Shawn and Gus to assist the SB Police Department, was played by Nelson. Despite the fact that Shawn and Gus irritated her, she supported them and often overlooked their shenanigans. Following the USA series, Nelson appeared in cameos on NCIS: New Orleans, Bones, and This Is Us. She also had a recurring role on Versus in 2017 and four episodes of K.C. Undercover in 2018.
